Join the hundreds of other kiwis who love the program

This is my second time as an Au Pair, my first experience was in Canada. Both countries are so different in terms of culture even though they are so close to each other. I’ve loved every minute here in Colorado Springs and it has so many things to offer that are different but also similar to back home – one being the mountains! My host family are awesome and I’ll be staying with them for a little extra time because of COVID, but I wouldn’t trade in my experience this year for anything. I have learned so many things about myself and the culture in America. As my time comes to an end as Au Pair, I plan for the future, holding my experiences and lessons close to my heart.

I was an Au Pair with Au Pair in America, and it is still the best choice that I have ever made. Living with my host family was such a special way to learn about the country and culture. I made incredible friends, explored places that I had grown up hearing about, and developed a huge amount of independence and self-confidence.

Au Pairing was a wonderful way for me to broaden my horizons while working in a job that I love! My Au Pair experience also lead me to where I am today, working back in New Zealand as a full time nanny for a family that I absolutely adore. I can’t think of many other experiences that are as rewarding as being an Au Pair overseas.

Well things are going great I love my family and are very happy with them, I havent made the final decision yet but I am pretty sure I will stay another year. My family is great and are letting me take an extra two weeks off to come home if I want to stay so I may as well take advantage of it. The children are cool and even the my town is very small and low key im having fun! Have added some photos of me with the children and me with friends. Hope its not to cold back there I am so excited to finally see some warm weather it feels like it has been such a long time!!!”

How this all started

Vicki Kenny CEO

Do you want to travel the world, living and working in other countries while caring for children? We can help you do just that, safely and with all of the hassles taken care of. Nannies Abroad is an NZ based International Nanny Placement Agency specialising in finding nannies fabulous jobs around the world.

It was set up in 1994 based on the experiences of its Managing Director, Vicki Kenny…“I was a nanny in London for three years from 1991-1993 and quickly became the go-to person for other families wanting nannies (placing all my friends in jobs) – but with a difference – I could see it from the nanny perspective – not just from the families point of view.

So I came back to NZ and started Nannies Abroad to help young Kiwis get fabulous Nanny Jobs with all the support needed for the first time overseas – including a safe and screened family – which is so important. I’ve been helping New Zealand Nannies and Au Pairs get amazing positions ever since.

I love hearing from our Kiwis in jobs overseas – having a fantastic O.E.”

So, you’ve decided you want to do this!

We’ve been doing this since 1994, so we are most experienced International Nanny Agency in New Zealand.
